Sweet and Simple Easter Bunny Card

Announce the arrival of Spring with this super simple Easter bunny card!

I don’t use my Silhouette as often as I should. I received this wonderful crafting machine as a Christmas gift a couple years ago, and probably only do 2-3 projects per year…..if that!

In an effort to change this horrible habit, I joined an online Silhouette Challenge group, and then browsed around the Silhouette store for inspiration. I finally came up with this super simple Easter bunny card, and think I might just be addicted. Yes – my crafty ninja self is back!

Perhaps you’re wondering what to do if you don’t own a Silhouette. Not to worry! You don’t need one to do this project, and can totally recreate it using a free template found online. I’d say that’s pretty sweet, and frugal!

Supplies Needed:

The Project:

Step 1: Cut your bunny shape from card stock using your Silhouette machine, or a printed template that has been resized.

If using a template, you should print it on card stock first, then cut out the design very carefully so you can trace it onto the patterned paper you want to use. Cut out shape using scissors or an X-acto knife if it has a lot of detail.

Step 2: Glue bunny shape to the front of the card with a glue stick or Zots. I like to use Zots because they are more secure and I don’t have to worry about them coming off. Plus, they stretch!

Step 3: Separate cotton ball in half or thirds, depending on how big you want the tail to be, and use a Zot to hold it in place.

Step 4: If you’d like, add embellishments to the inside of the card. I used a couple butterfly punches and an Easter sticker I found in my stash. Or you could just leave it plain. Simple is good!

Step 5: Find a coordinating envelope, or make your own. Then send out your card and wish someone Happy {or should I say Hoppy} Easter greetings. Sorry, I couldn’t resist!

Total Cost: $.99

Silhouette File $.99 | Other supplies I already had on hand

I don’t know about you, but I’m always delighted to find a handwritten note in my mailbox. Think how fun it would be to receive one of these? It’s even bunny-approved!

Very cute! I am unable to touch cotton balls…they give me the chills (kind of like nails on a chalk board). But if I could, I’d totally make this card!

Hi! I’m a newbie Silhouette challenger too! Nice to meet you! I just love the fluffy tail. It make the card, for sure! But I don’t know how you divided the cotton ball… that stuff gives me goose bumps!

Love it! I love simple projects with my Silhouette. People think you have to make things so detailed, but really, the Silhouette is perfect for simple projects, too!

    Kalyn,
Your attention to detail makes your card stand tall above a mass printed card. It shows how much you care for person who is lucky to receive it in the mail.
